Terra Kulture on Tiamiyu Savage Street is the most useful single building for a curious visitor to Lagos: a serious bookshop (one of the best for Nigerian and African fiction in the country), a small theatre that hosts new plays most weekends, a contemporary art gallery, a Nigerian-language school, and an excellent restaurant doing modern interpretations of Yoruba and Igbo classics. The Sunday-afternoon plays followed by dinner are a small Lagos ritual. Free wifi, working air-conditioning, no rush.
