Akemi Revolving Restaurant

Revolving restaurant on the 21st floor of the PSPF Towers — the city's highest dining room.

Akemi spans the top two floors of the PSPF Tower in the city centre, the upper one revolving slowly through one full turn an hour. The view is the whole point — the harbour, the cathedrals, the Kigamboni Bridge, the Indian Ocean beyond — and on a clear day at sunset it is unimprovable. The food is competent rather than exceptional: a long pan-African and Indian Ocean menu, with seafood the best bet.

Reserve at the weekend if you want a window table around sunset; midweek you can usually walk in. Smart-casual; no shorts. There is a separate bar lounge a floor below for drinks only, slightly cheaper and with the same view.
