St Mary's Cathedral Rubaga crowns one of Kampala's historic hills and is among Uganda's most important Catholic sites. The large twin-towered church is visible from across the city, and its hilltop position gives it both symbolic weight and broad views.
The cathedral belongs with Namirembe, the Bahai Temple, and the Kasubi Tombs in any attempt to understand Kampala through its hills. Come for the architecture and the view, but also for the sense of how religion, politics, and urban geography overlap in the capital.
