Zhangjiajie's attractions split between the high sandstone landscape of the Wulingyuan UNESCO World Heritage area to the north and Tianmen Mountain immediately above the city. Both reward at least a full day each. The glass-bottomed infrastructure — walkways, bridges, cable cars — is genuinely spectacular, though visitors who dislike heights will still find plenty of rewarding terrain at valley level.
