A small but well-curated museum on the Tirumala hilltop, near the temple complex. The exhibits cover the history, mythology, and ritual life of the Sri Venkateswara temple — bronze sculptures, manuscripts, traditional musical instruments, oil paintings and lithographs depicting episodes from the temple's history, and architectural fragments from earlier phases of the temple.
The museum is run by the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams). It is free to enter and rarely crowded compared to the temple itself. Allow 45 minutes to an hour. Particularly worthwhile if you want context before or after a darshan trip; the explanations of the various daily and seasonal rituals at the temple are clear and well presented.
