The Jamia Masjid is the main congregational mosque of Anantnag town, an old timber-and-brick structure typical of Kashmiri religious architecture — pyramidal roof, deep eaves, and a slim minaret. It sits in the old bazaar at the heart of town and fills with worshippers on Fridays.
Non-Muslims are usually welcome outside prayer times if dressed modestly. Take off your shoes at the entrance and ask before photographing the interior.
