Lodwick Point is one of Mahabaleshwar's better viewpoints, reached by a forested walk rather than a drive-up scrum. The path leads out to a high spur with views over the valleys below and across to the neighbouring Elephant's Head formation.
It is a simple outing, but a good one: shade on the approach, big air at the end, and enough distance from the road to thin the crowds slightly. Go in the morning for clearer views, and avoid the cliff edges in monsoon mist when the drop can disappear into cloud.
