A converted 17th-century lakeside haveli, Jagat Niwas Palace Hotel runs one of Udaipur's better rooftop restaurants — covered in season, with carved jharokha windows facing the lake and a menu that does the Mewari classics (laal maas, safed maas, gatte ki sabzi) properly. Live ghazal music most evenings.
The setting is at least as much of the appeal as the food. Around ₹2,000 for two with a beer. Book the front terrace tables for the sunset view of the Lake Palace.
