House of Danar Hadi is a batik museum in a 19th-century Javanese mansion. Its large collection covers Javanese, Chinese, Indian, and Dutch-influenced batik, with displays that show how patterns and techniques changed across periods and communities.
Behind the museum, visitors can usually see part of the batik-making process. Allow about an hour, and note that photography may be restricted inside.
