Pasar Kahayan sits just by the river near the bridge — a smaller, more local market than Pasar Besar, mostly fresh fish straight off the boats, river prawns, vegetables grown in the floodplain, and a small range of household goods. The river setting gives it some of the most interesting market atmosphere in the city.
Best visited at first light when the fishermen are still unloading.
