Tembok Berlin — literally "Berlin Wall" — is a long concrete seawall lining a stretch of beach on the eastern edge of Sorong. The name comes from the wall itself, which separates the road from the shore. Locals come here in the late afternoon to escape the heat, fish from the wall, and watch the sun set across the strait.
It is not a swimming beach — the water can be murky and the seabed is rocky — but it is one of the few places in town where you can sit and look at the sea. Food stalls set up in the evenings selling grilled fish, papeda, and cold drinks. The atmosphere is local, unhurried, and a useful glimpse of how Sorong relaxes.
