Sorong is a transit town. Most travellers spend at most a night here on the way to Raja Ampat, but if you have a few hours to fill there are a handful of worthwhile sights — a Chinese-style pagoda above the harbour, a small island just offshore with traces of the Pacific War, and beaches a short drive out of the centre.
