Duriankang Dam

Reservoir with quiet walking and cycling trails

Batam's main water supply is also one of the few quiet corners of the island. The reservoir covers around 60 square kilometres of inlets and peninsulas, and the foreshores — mostly cleared of illegal farms after a 2002 government campaign — make for surprisingly pleasant walking and cycling. The easiest entry point is opposite the Puri Legenda housing estate; from there a single well-trodden path leads out along the peninsula to the water's edge.
