Behnam House

Restored Qajar-era mansion, now part of the Islamic Arts University

Behnam House is a Qajar-period residence that has been meticulously restored and now forms part of the Tabriz Islamic Arts University. The house consists of two main sections — a summer pavilion and a winter pavilion — arranged around a long courtyard with a central pool.

The decoration is the reason to come: painted stucco ceilings, finely carved wooden doors, and rooms with stained-glass orosi windows that throw coloured light across the floors. Because the building is in active university use, visiting hours are restricted, but the courtyard alone is freely accessible during the day.
