Indonesian Bharata

A small Indonesian restaurant tucked into a side street near Shianbashi, run for decades by a couple who moved to Nagasaki from Surabaya. The nasi rames combo plate is the staple — a mound of rice surrounded by spicy beef rendang, gado-gado, tempeh, and a sambal that will wake you up. Cheap, friendly, and a welcome change of register from the local Japanese-Chinese fusion. Lunch only most days; check before you go.
