The covered Hamanmachi Arcade is the central shopping zone, running roughly east of the Shianbashi tram stop. It is more practical than touristy — department stores, drug stores, clothing chains. For souvenirs head to one of the castella shops on or near the arcade, or browse Chinatown's lantern and dried-seafood shops. The Sunday morning antique market at Suwa Shrine is worth a detour if your visit lines up.
