The cable car up Mount Inasa is the easiest and most pleasant way to reach the summit. Departures every 15 minutes from the base station at Fuchi Shrine. The cars themselves were redesigned by industrial designer Kenya Hara in 2011 — sleek aluminium gondolas with all-glass walls. The five-minute ride passes over residential roofs and forest before climbing the steep upper slope. A free shuttle bus runs to the base station from several central hotels and tram stops in the late afternoon and evening; check the schedule at your hotel reception.
