Takamatsu's drinking scene is concentrated in the warren of small streets immediately east of the Marugamemachi arcade — Furujin-machi and the back lanes around it — where dozens of tiny izakaya and bars run on into the small hours. The standalone cafe culture is thinner, but a few worthwhile coffee spots have opened in recent years on Kawaramachi and along the arcade itself.
