Takamatsu is the main rail gateway to Shikoku. Trains from Okayama cross the Seto-ohashi Bridge and arrive at Takamatsu Station in about an hour; the bridge views are spectacular and worth sitting on the right side of the train. Several limited express services run throughout the day, including the Uzu no Michi and Ishizuchi.
By air, Takamatsu Airport has domestic flights to Tokyo (Haneda), Nagoya, and Sapporo. The airport bus takes about 40 minutes to the city centre.
Ferries connect Takamatsu to Uno (for Naoshima and the other Seto Inland Sea art islands) from Takamatsu Port, a short walk from the station. The crossing to Uno takes about an hour.
