The Kuwait Towers are the country's most famous landmark -- three blue-and-green striped towers on a promontory overlooking the Arabian Gulf. Built in 1979, they serve a dual function as entertainment facilities and water reservoirs.
The main tower has a revolving observation deck in its upper sphere that completes a full rotation every half hour, giving panoramic views of the city and the Gulf. Below it, three restaurants offer dining with a view. The middle tower is purely a water reservoir holding one million gallons. The thin third tower illuminates the other two with 96 concealed spotlights, creating a striking spectacle after dark.
Come at sunset for the best experience -- watching the city light up from the observation deck is one of the most memorable things you can do in Kuwait.
