Changkat Bukit Bintang

Colonial shophouse street turned into KL's main bar strip, with dozens of restaurants and late-night venues

The main bar street in central KL — a curved residential lane two blocks west of Jalan Bukit Bintang, lined for several hundred metres with restored shophouses converted into open-fronted bars, gastropubs, and restaurants. The atmosphere is closer to a Bangkok soi than a polished cocktail district: tables spill onto the pavement, music carries from doorway to doorway, the crowd is a mix of expats, locals, and travellers.

Anchors include Pisco Bar (Peruvian and pisco-sour focused), Ril's Bar (steakhouse-style), the long-running Healy Mac's Irish bar, and the speakeasy Omakase + Appreciate hidden in a Bangsar shophouse. Things kick off after 9 pm and run till around 2 am. Most places do not charge cover. Walk or grab a taxi; parking is impossible.
