Telawi Street

Bangsar's main bar and restaurant strip — the heart of KL's expat nightlife

Telawi Street (and the connecting Jalan Telawi 2, 3, and 5) is Bangsar's main bar and restaurant strip, and arguably the most consistently good nightlife street in Kuala Lumpur. The mix is diverse: wine bars, craft beer pubs, Mexican cantinas, Korean BBQ, Japanese izakayas, Italian trattorias, and cocktail bars all operating within a few blocks of each other. The crowd is a mix of expats, young professionals, and the city's middle class.

Things get busy from about 8 pm on weekends; the better restaurants fill up quickly without reservations. Social at Telawi and Pisco Bar (Mexican) are perennial favourites. The side streets (especially Jalan Telawi 3) have the calmer wine bars and cafés. Parking is a challenge; Grab or the Bangsar LRT are easier.
