Caffe Concerto

Genuinely Italian wood-fired pizza, run by an expatriate from Milan

The closest you will get to real Milanese pizza in Pokhara, and the gap is smaller than you might fear. Caffe Concerto was founded by an Italian who imports his own flour and parmigiano and trains his cooks personally. The wood-fired oven is at the back; the dough is properly fermented; the pizzas are thin-crust, blistered, and excellent.

Pasta dishes are also well-judged, and the wine list is among the better ones in town. Slightly more expensive than the average Lakeside place but worth it after weeks of trekking food. On the central Lakeside strip near the lake-front.
