Roadside Chai Stall

Chai stalls are the lifeblood of any Pakistani town and Bagh is no exception. They are found at the bus stand, the bazaar, outside government offices, and along the road to Sudhan Gali — essentially wherever there is foot traffic. A glass of strong, sweet, milky chai costs next to nothing and is the universal accompaniment to conversation, waiting, and rest.

Some stalls also serve kahwa, the traditional Kashmiri green tea spiced with cardamom and served black. Ask for it by name if you want to try it. The tea is usually brewed in a large pot and poured continuously through the day.
