Bagh sits within a day's reach of several more developed destinations. Rawalakot, roughly 30 kilometres away, is the largest town in the southern part of Azad Kashmir and offers more in the way of amenities and onward connections. Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir, is further north at around 100 kilometres and has more historical and administrative interest. Islamabad, 3–4 hours by road, is the practical base for flying in and out and has its own attractions. The viewpoint at Pir Chinasi, above Muzaffarabad, is a popular half-day excursion worth combining with the drive to the capital.
