Kashmir Point

Ridge-top viewpoint looking across the Jhelum Valley into Kashmir

The viewpoint at the northeast end of Murree's ridge, looking across the Jhelum Valley into Azad Kashmir. It is a favourite spot for families, photographers, and horse riders during the day, and at night the twinkling lights on the surrounding mountains draw evening strollers. Tea stalls and snack vendors line the approach.

On very clear days — most common after rain in the monsoon season or in early spring — you can see far into Azad Kashmir toward the higher Himalayan peaks. A small bazaar at the base of the viewpoint sells Kashmiri shawls, dried fruit, and nuts. Horse rides are available by negotiation; prices fluctuate by season and demand. The viewpoint is busiest between 6pm and 8pm in summer.
