Run by the Geological Survey of Pakistan, this is the country's largest collection of rocks, minerals, gemstones and building stone. The palaeontology galleries are the highlight: 500-million-year-old marine invertebrates, Pakistan's first dinosaur fossils (from Barkhan), the tusk of an extinct elephant from Azad Kashmir, and pieces of Baluchitherium — the giant hornless rhinoceros from the Bugti hills, the largest land mammal ever to have lived. Entry is free; closed Sundays and public holidays.
