Twenty-one kilometres east of Quetta, reached by a road lined with wild roses and orchard walls. Locals call it Samaristan, "the land of fruits", and in summer the apricot, peach, apple and pomegranate trees give the valley its character. There is a small waterfall, plenty of roadside fruit stalls, and a steady weekend crowd of Quettans escaping the city heat.
