The Clark Museum and Exhibition Gallery documents the layered history of the Clark Freeport Zone and the wider Angeles City area, from pre-colonial times through the American military era and into the present economic zone. The collection includes archaeological finds, photographs, maps, and objects from the Philippine-American War period as well as the long decades when Clark Air Base was one of the most important American military installations in the Pacific.
A significant section covers the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo, which hastened the American withdrawal and temporarily buried much of the base under volcanic ash. Artifacts salvaged from the lahar and photographs of the ash-covered aircraft and buildings are among the most striking exhibits. The museum is located within the Clark complex and is easily combined with a visit to Bayanihan Park or Nayong Pilipino. Reservations are recommended.
