Museo ning Angeles

The Museo ning Angeles — "Museum of Angeles" in the Kapampangan language — is the city's main cultural and historical museum. It documents the long history of Angeles City and the surrounding Pampanga region, from pre-colonial times through the Spanish and American colonial periods and into the present day. The collection includes artifacts, photographs, documents, and artworks that help visitors understand a city that is often reduced to its association with Clark Air Base.

The museum gives particular attention to Kapampangan culture: the language, the culinary traditions, and the folk arts that make this region distinctive within the Philippines. There are exhibits on the devastating eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991, including photographs of the lahar flows that buried entire communities, and sections on the city's gradual reinvention in the decades since. It is a good first stop before exploring the rest of the city.

A story
The museum takes its name from Kapampangan, the language of Pampanga province, and the exhibits deliberately center that perspective — this is the story of Angeles City told by the Kapampangans themselves, not by the Americans or Spanish who also left their marks on the city.
