Mantigue Island, a small coral island about 25 minutes by banca from the north coast, has good snorkelling and a community of sea turtles. It is a popular day trip from Camiguin's north coast resorts. On the mainland, Cagayan de Oro is the natural base for further travel — the city has good transport connections and makes a reasonable stopping point before or after Camiguin. Iligan City, about 90 kilometres west along the coast, has the spectacular Maria Cristina Falls nearby.
