The dry season from March to May is the most reliable time for beach activities and diving. Typhoons can affect Camiguin from June through November, with August and September the most active months — though the island's position south of the main typhoon belt means it is less exposed than Luzon or the Visayas. Year-round temperatures are warm and humid; the cooler months from November to February are generally pleasant for hiking.
The Lanzones Festival in the third week of October is the island's biggest celebration, marking the harvest of the sweet lanzones fruit that grows across the hillsides. The week includes street dancing, a food fair in Mambajao, and the chance to join the harvest on farms around the island. It is a good reason to visit in the shoulder season, when the island is quieter but the event draws visitors from Mindanao and beyond. The San Juan Hibok-Hibokan festival on 24 June, honouring St John the Baptist, is celebrated on the north coast beaches with boat races and water sports.
