Getting Around

The island road circles the entire coast — about 64 kilometres — and can be driven in two hours. Motorelas (motorcycle tricycles) are the standard local transport, running fixed east and west routes out of Mambajao; eastbound and westbound vehicles don't swap routes, so pay attention to direction. Fares are low. Multi-cabs (small shared minivans) can be hired for the day for a full island circuit, which is the easiest way to visit widely spaced attractions. Bicycles and motorbikes are available for hire from resorts and small shops near the port.
