Katibawasan Falls

70-metre waterfall plunging into a swimmable jungle pool

The most accessible of Camiguin's waterfalls, Katibawasan drops about 70 metres into a cold emerald pool surrounded by dense forest, five kilometres southeast of Mambajao. The water is cold year-round — fed by mountain springs rather than surface runoff — and the pool is safe for swimming. The volume of the falls is highest from July to September during the wet season.

A small entrance fee is charged at the park gate. Tricycles from Mambajao reach the trailhead in about 20 minutes, from which it is a short walk through jungle. The trail passes a small botanical garden with labelled native plants. Bring a dry bag if you plan to swim — the spray from the falls reaches well into the viewing area.
