Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral

Historic cathedral at the heart of Cebu’s old colonial and religious quarter.

Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral anchors the old religious centre of Cebu City, only a short walk from the Basilica del Santo Niño, Magellan’s Cross, and Fort San Pedro. The present stone church reflects centuries of rebuilding after fire, war, and earthquake, which is very much the story of historic Cebu itself.

Step inside for the cool nave, the devotional atmosphere, and a sense of the city’s Catholic life beyond the more famous basilica. It is best visited as part of a compact heritage walk through the downtown core, where Spanish, Filipino, and commercial Cebu overlap in a few busy blocks.
