Cebu Taoist Temple

Perched at the highest point of the Beverly Hills Subdivision, this temple complex built by the Chinese-Filipino community in 1972 offers some of the best views over Cebu City. Visitors climb 81 steps (one for each chapter of the Taoist text Tao Te Ching) to reach the main hall, decorated with dragon motifs, red lanterns, and incense burners. Dress modestly — shoulders and knees covered. A jeepney from the city goes partway; from there it's a short walk or habal-habal ride uphill.
