Malcapuya is a small private island about two hours by boat south of Coron town, with what is widely considered the best beach in the Calamian group: a long, gently curving stretch of fine white sand backed by a low ridge of palms and grass. The water is shallow far out from shore and the reef just offshore is decent for snorkelling.
It's a standard stop on the "Tour C" island-hopping itinerary, usually combined with Banana Island and Bulog Dos. Lunch is included on most tours, but bring cash for the small additional landing fee charged on the beach. Day-trippers leave by mid-afternoon; some operators offer overnight stays in basic beach huts.
