Balaan Bukid ("Holy Mountain") rises just behind Jordan and is topped by a large white cross visible from Iloilo across the strait. A flight of concrete steps lined with Stations of the Cross climbs to the summit chapel; the view across the Iloilo Strait at the top is the best on the island. Every Good Friday tens of thousands of pilgrims climb the steps in procession.
