The Church of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary at Navalas, in the northern municipality of Buenavista, is the oldest church on Guimaras, built in 1880 of coral stone blocks. It is small, weathered, and has none of the grand baroque flourishes of the bigger Visayan churches — but the stonework and the quiet setting make it worth the detour for anyone with an interest in colonial-era architecture.
