Bagacay Beach is the easiest white-sand beach to reach from downtown Calbayog — about ten minutes by tricycle or jeepney. The strand is short but properly white, the water clear and cold even in midday heat, and tall coconut palms line the back of the beach. The atmosphere is more local than touristed; expect family groups on weekends and a handful of cottage rentals available for the day.
Snorkelling around the rockier sections at either end of the beach yields small reef fish and an occasional clam. Bring your own gear; rental options are limited. Food and drinks are available at small stalls, but bringing your own supplies is the standard local approach. A useful half-day option if you do not have the time for a full beach-hopping run up to Malajog or Looc.
