The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul is the main Catholic church of Calbayog City and the seat of the Diocese of Calbayog. The current structure dates from the Spanish colonial period, with the thick stone walls and bell tower typical of Philippine churches built under Augustinian missionaries. It faces the city plaza in the downtown area, making it easy to find and a natural starting point for exploring the centre. Mass is held daily and the church remains an active part of community life.
