Bunot Lake lies southeast of the city centre, a compact volcanic crater lake surrounded by dense vegetation and small fish farms. Locals call it the Sunset Lake of San Pablo — the western orientation of the lake and the low ridgeline to the east make for particularly vivid late-afternoon light over the water. A rough path encircles most of the shore.
Less visited than Sampaloc, Bunot is quieter and more intimate. Lakeside stalls sell grilled fish and coconut drinks. If you're making a circuit of the seven lakes, Bunot makes a good late-afternoon stop on the way back into town.
