The former Armenian cathedral of the Holy Mother of God is one of the surviving traces of Adana's once-large Armenian community, which made up around a quarter of the city's population before 1909. The original cathedral burned in the anti-Armenian massacres of that year; the current building, in cream-coloured limestone with a tall lantern and broad nave, was completed shortly afterwards in 1924, by which time the community had largely been wiped out or scattered.
After decades of disuse, the building was restored and reopened in 2015 as the Bebekli Kilise museum and concert hall. The acoustics inside are remarkable. Open during the day; small entry fee.
