Atakule Tower is one of Ankara's most visible modern landmarks, rising above Çankaya with a viewing platform and commercial complex at its base. It is not old Ankara, but it shows the capital's late-20th-century confidence and appetite for skyline symbols.
The main reason to visit is the view. On a clear day the city spreads wide across the Anatolian plateau, giving useful context after the tighter historic sights around Ulus and the citadel.
