Mezlai

The Emirati restaurant inside Emirates Palace, on the western Corniche. It is the obvious place to try traditional Gulf food without doing your own research — thereed, machboos diyay, luqaimat doused in date syrup — in surroundings that take the cuisine seriously. The dining room is decorated with Bedouin textiles and there is a Bedouin tent setup outside in cooler months.

Expensive but the food is genuinely good. Open evenings only; reservations needed.
