Sacred Heart Cathedral

The Catholic cathedral on Wolfram Street was finished in 1905 and is one of the more substantial church buildings in outback New South Wales. Built in a plain Gothic Revival manner with red brick and stone dressings, it served a town that at the time was growing faster than almost anywhere else in the country.

The interior is worth a look for the stained glass and the timber roof. The cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of Wilcannia-Forbes and is usually open during the day.
