Eating Out

Adelaide punches well above its weight for food. The Central Market on Gouger Street is the anchor of a whole restaurant district — Gouger itself is Chinatown's main strip. Hutt Street and the East End around Rundle Street are the other main eating areas, with everything from pub classics to fine dining. Further out, the seaside suburbs — Henley Beach and Glenelg — do excellent fish and chips. Don't miss the South Australian specialties: Coffin Bay oysters, Kangaroo Island marron, and a pie floater (meat pie sunk in pea soup) if you can still find one.
