Adelaide's cultural quarter is North Terrace — a single street lined with the Art Gallery of South Australia, the South Australian Museum, the State Library and the Migration Museum, all free. The Adelaide Botanic Garden is at the east end. Cross the river and you're at the Adelaide Oval, with stadium tours and a roof climb. A short tram ride out, Glenelg gives you a beach; a short drive up, the Adelaide Hills give you wine, Hahndorf's German bakeries and Mount Lofty for the view.
