Cape Otway Lightstation is mainland Australia's oldest surviving lighthouse, operating since 1848 from sea cliffs where Bass Strait meets the Southern Ocean. It is a worthwhile detour from the Great Ocean Road for coastal views, maritime history, and the exposed headland setting.
