Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool

The Sabeto Hot Springs are a chain of geothermal mud pools tucked into the hills about 25 minutes north of Nadi. The standard visit is a half-day: you strip down, wade through a thigh-deep grey mud pool until you are coated head to toe, then progress through a series of progressively warmer hot pools until you are clean and very relaxed.

It is informal and friendly — local families run the place — and the setting under the hills is striking. Bring an old swimsuit (the mud stains anything pale), a towel, and small bills for the entry fee. Most Nadi tour operators package the springs with the Garden of the Sleeping Giant for a half-day combo.
